Octopush, aka Underwater Hockey, is a team-based aquatic sport where two teams of six dive down and flick a weighted puck at the bottom of the pool into a goal at the other end, all while holding their breath! It’s fast-paced, competitive and always great fun.
We pride ourselves on being open to everyone regardless of experience, so if you like being in the water and want a new sport to call your own, you’re in the right place. We take beginners throughout the year and your first 4 sessions are free, so you get more than enough time to get a feel for the game.
We compete regularly in leagues across the country, going against tough competition at Roses and at Student Nationals in Leeds. The competitive scene for students is busy and vibrant, so if you’re looking to compete we’ll always have a fixture for you.
We run regular drinking and non-drinking socials, aiming to make sure everyone has a great time underwater and on land! Octopush are also the hosts of Big Blue, the biggest sports social ever which saw 10+ water sports come together. If you’re onboard, a great night out is guaranteed!
